THE PROPOSAL
People always ask one of two things:
The best way to answer these is to start with the latter...
2. Yes, I knew it was coming! Okay, so I didn't really know, but I had a definite feeling something was up... I'm pretty sure you'd be suspicious too if your boyfriend carried his pants every where he went when he wasn't wearing them! That was the biggest clue, but there were other things I can now recall thinking back, but the sweetest was the way he would look at me! Pure love and adoration, and maybe a little bit of fear-of-the-unknown... a yes or a no!
1. He knows I'm rather shy (though most might disagree), so he decided to make it a personal moment for the two of us! To my surprise he wasn't acting strangely carrying his pants around or staring at me. We had a totally normal night! It was December 26th 2012, we made dinner together and watched the latest Batman. He had already given me my Christmas gift, a beautiful locket from an Antique store, and I was surprised when he said he had another gift for me.
I actually was convinced it was the new iMac we had discussed buying together. When he had me sit in the other room I could hardly contain my excitement! When he called me out I ran around the corner to find him kneeling with a ring box, I nearly fell backwards (no exaggeration) and actually screamed! I was so shocked I burst out laughing, looking up he asked, so sweetly and most definitely terrified, "So....?" Clearly I said, "Yes!" It was around 11pm and I was in my pajamas, so it just goes to show you that love most certainly is blind!
Little did I know there would be a to be continued...
About 2 months later, we discussed how we didn't have any photo documentation of the big night and how I wished we had a nice picture of the two of us after it had happened. Lord knows men don't usually listen to the every whim of their women, but in this case Jeff took this detail and ran with it. My friend (and bridesmaid) contacted us about going to a beautiful restaurant in Cleveland, Pier W. She wanted us to help her celebrate her Fiancee's work promotion, so clearly we were more than happy to oblige. The week of the celebration I had been contacted by our jeweler who informed me that I had requested maintenance on my ring and never brought it in, so I made arrangements to bring the ring back to the jewelers where I would then pick it up on the following Monday after the party.
Jeff had come down with a cold and that night I told him that we didn't have to go, but he insisted that he felt much better, so we got ourselves dressed to the 9's and headed out! Dinner was absolutely fabulous and we couldn't have had more fun with our friends, we weren't quite ready for the night to end and the restaurant overlooking Lake Erie has an observation deck on the roof. We bundled ourselves up and headed to the roof! I am a probably the coldest person on earth at all times so it was no surprise that I begged to head in shortly after we were out there. Jeff stopped me and announced he wanted to say something, when he began I was not expecting what he was about to say, "I'd like to thank everyone for coming out tonight so that I can propose this time with proof, to Christine...!" He got down on one knee and opened a ring box, and inside was MY ring! He had arranged the whole thing, even down to the detail that the ring store call me to bring my ring in for maintenance!
I. WAS. SHOCKED!
and this time we had proof!

1. How'd he do it?
2. Did you know
he was going
to do it?
